Our Story

Axis Winery was founded ten years ago by Stephen Springer, an exceptional winemaker and proud marine veteran whose passion, dedication, and discipline laid the foundation for everything Axis represents today. Through years of hard work, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to quality values shaped both by his military service and his craftsmanship. Steve built Axis Winery into a respected and beloved destination for wine enthusiasts.

In 2024, Mike and Lora Zuber joined Steve as partners, sharing his vision and commitment to producing outstanding wines. Together, they relocated and thoughtfully expanded the winery, building upon the strong foundation Steve had created and guiding Axis into an exciting new chapter.

Last year, Steve proudly passed the torch to Mike and Lora, entrusting them with the legacy he worked so passionately to establish. Today, they continue that legacy with deep respect for his craftsmanship, service, and dedication to excellence.

At Axis Winery, our mission remains the same: to create exceptional wines and share them with you our valued customers and cherished wine club members. Every bottle reflects our commitment to quality, community, and the enduring spirit of integrity and perseverance that Steve instilled from the very beginning.

"We stopped at Axis Winery on our way to Austin, planning to just grab a couple bottles and get back on the road — what was supposed to be a quick stop turned into tasting most if not all of the wines, and even joining the wine club!

Every wine we tried was fantastic; the Grace lavender wine was especially unique and delightful- unlike anything we’ve ever had before.
